A Song About Joy to the World

The Songs of Our Savior

Preached by: Phill Howell | 06/16/24

Scripture/Text: Psalm 98:1-9; In this week's sermon, the next in our series through Book 4 of the Psalms, Pastor Phill led us through Psalm 98:1-9 and explained how the coming of the Lord inspires a trio of responses: new songs, loud songs, and even nature's song. Throughout this message, we also learned about the story of Isaac Watts, the prolific hymn writer who famously penned "Joy to the World" based on this very psalm. Watts' timeless hymn reflects the joyful anticipation and exuberant praise that marks the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We hope you will accept the invitation from this sermon and this psalm to join in the global and cosmic chorus of celebration of Christ's first coming as we eagerly await His second coming.

The coming of the Lord produces:
