Scripture/Text: Psalm 39:1-13; Pastor Phill Howell provides the 39th sermon of the Songs of the Savior series by expositing Psalm 39. The big idea this week is that we should use Psalm 39 as a tool to recalibrate and reset our tongue, our time, and our truth. In the psalm, David cries to God about the shortness of life and God's discipline upon David for his sins. Jesus Christ lives out what David cries out in verse 13, as Jesus experiences the abandonment of the Father on the cross when bearing all sin, only to resurrect, ascend, and reunite with the Father! The scripture readings from our worship service were from James 4:13-17 and Psalm 90:12-17.
