A Song About The Holiness of God

The Songs of Our Savior

Preached by: Phill Howell | 06/23/24

Scripture/Text: Psalm 99:1-9; In this week's message on Psalm 99, Pastor Phill teaches that our the King of the universe is worthy of praise and exaltation because He is Holy. Psalm 99 declares that God's name, justice, and responses to sin are all holy. We learn in this sermon that holiness means complete devotion to God's glory, which results in moral purity and transcendence. Pastor Phill highlights that holy justice is true social justice, defined by God's fairness and love for justice, rather than modern reinterpretations. Finally, he underscores that God's responses to sin are holy, perfectly balancing mercy and justice, and that God is fully committed to making us merciful and just like Him.

1. Praise the LORD, His Name Is Holy (Psalm 99:1-3)
2. Exalt the LORD, His Justice Is Holy (Psalm 99:4-5)
3. Exalt the LORD, His Responses to Sin Are Holy (Psalm 99:6-9)
