A Song About Waiting for God's Mercy

The Songs of Our Savior

Preached by: Phill Howell | 07/14/24

Scripture/Text: Psalm 102:1-28; In this week's sermon in our series through Book 4 of the Psalms, Pastor Phill Howell explains how Psalm 102 is a prayer of a humble human whose hope is in heaven. The first half of the Psalm (102:1-11) records the prayer of this humbled human as he pours out his heart, begging to be heard. The second half of the Psalm (102:12-28) provides hope from God's promises to rebuild and restore the people and the land. From the holy heights of heaven, the enthroned king hears the groans of the prisoners. Throughout the sermon message, we are reminded of the sufficient and superior help that the scriptures provide for those of us who have also been humbled and broken by our personal sins or the prevailing sins of the world.
