Scripture/Text: Matthew 26:30-35; The big idea of this message is that the disciples will deny Jesus so that we will be able to deny ourselves. There are only two choices, as far as Jesus is concerned: either deny one's self, give up all hope of security and safety, and follow Jesus to the cross; or, deny Jesus. The disciples will fail; they will not deny themselves but deny Jesus. However, the good news is that through their denial Jesus will accomplish victory so that we can become new people who deny ourselves to the glory of God.
