Scripture/Text: Matthew 24:15-28; The big idea for this weeks message is that Jesus wants to save his followers from destruction. In this section of Matthew 24, Jesus says the destruction of the Jerusalem temple will come after an act of abomination. Therefore, the desolation of the temple is the result of Israel's sin and their rejection of Jesus. When the temple was actually destroyed in A.D. 70 by the Roman army Jesus' words were vindicated. In other words, Jesus is the true exalted king over heaven and earth.
