Psalm 119 (Part 1)

The Songs of Our Savior

Preached by: Phill Howell | 1/5/25

Scripture/Text: Psalms 119:1-3; Main Point: Psalm 119 invites us into a blessed life by walking the blameless way, which is only found through beholding the beauty of God's Law in prayerful meditation.

In this sermon, we continued our series through all 150 Psalms as we work through the fifth and final book of the Psalms. This past Sunday, we arrived at Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible. Because of its length, we began an 8-sermon journey through this remarkable passage of Scripture.

In this first message, Pastor Phill introduced the entire chapter, offering an overarching summary by teaching through the first three verses. The sermon focused on three key words: blessed, blameless, and law. Each of these words are essential to understanding the message of Psalm 119, yet they are often misunderstood. We pray that through this message you will accept God's invitation to a blessed life, walking the blameless way by beholding the beauty of God's law.
