The Final Song of David
The Songs of Our Savior
Scripture/Text: Psalm 145; This week's sermon on Psalm 145 explores an alphabetic psalm of adoration, presenting the Big Idea that all of us should be blessing all of God, all the time. This message traces how David's personal worship expands outward through generations. Starting with David himself as king, to his descendants, to all the saints, and ultimately to all flesh (every living being across all ages, ethnicities, nations, and conditions). The call is to comprehensive worship, not selective praise of only comfortable attributes, but blessing all of God's character including His justice and judgment, constantly and eternally. After explaining the calling to praise, this sermon addresses two key challenges: First, how can we adequately praise an infinite, unsearchable God? Second, how can all flesh continually bless Him forever?
Sermon Outline:
1. The Big Idea - All of us, Blessing all of Him, All the time.
2. Challenge # 1 - How can finite humans praise an infinite God, whose greatness is unsearchable (Psalm 145:3)?
3. Challenge # 2 - How can sinful humans praise God at all the times?
