The big idea of this week's message is that God's elect exiles are not of this world, but they are sent into the nations to glorify God. Simply put, we are "not of" but we are "sent into." This sermon explains how Peter describes the fact that we are "not of this world" in 1 Peter 2:11 and then how Peter encourages Christians to live in this world based upon their calling in 1 Peter 2:12. Just like the way the world treated Jesus, the world will hate Christ's followers and the world will applaud Christ followers. Christians should live in the world in order to bring glory to God and hope that people from all nations will come to faith in Jesus so that on the day of visitation they too will give glory to God.
